My methods

The goal of Cypress Banks Counseling is to provide therapy that supports change and growth.

A life with peace is possible if you have hope.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Therapy that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful patterns of thinking. It addresses problematic core beliefs, including central ideas about yourself and the world. You will learn healthier ways of coping with these thoughts to improve your mental and emotional health.

Person-Centered

Person-centered therapy recognizes that each person has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change. I offer empathy and unconditional positive regard to help facilitate this change. This therapy allows you to take the lead while I offer support, guidance, and structure so you can discover personalized solutions within yourself.

My Background & Training

I am a licensed LPC-Supervisor in TX (#71466). I have been providing counseling services to adults and adolescents since 2016.

Before opening up my own private practice, I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Tarleton State University. After a 13 year career in sales and marketing, I returned to school to pursue my passion in the counseling field. I graduated with my Masters of Art in Professional Counseling from Amberton University.

Origin of

Cypress Banks Counseling

When I decided to create my private practice, I wanted a name that held real meaning. I considered options like 'Your Journey' or 'New Beginnings,' but they either didn’t resonate or were already taken. So, I turned to my own story and asked myself, what chapter of my life characterized the feeling I wanted for my clients? That’s when it all clicked!

For the last 10 years, my family has made an annual trip to the Frio River in Leakey, TX. Huge Cypress Trees line the banks of the Frio River adding to the serene feel of this unique place. It has become a special place I eagerly look forward to each year because of the lasting memories made there. My family finds adventure, relaxation, healing, connection and peace each time we visit.

Our trip took on new meaning after my father's passing several years ago. Though painful to visit at first, it has since become a place where I feel close to him and sense his presence. My hope is that Cypress Banks Counseling can offer you that same peace and healing as you navigate this season of change.
